Museum in Pueblo, CO
Imagine a world in which your
museum has all the resources it needs to serve
more visitors, deliver more programs, strengthen
its staff, better protect its collections, spread
its message more widely, and increase its financial
stability. If this vision attracts, excites
– even inspires – you, join us on
July 21 for a workshop on creating a culture
of volunteer engagement in your museum –
because you have all that you need to bring
this vision to reality. Join Beth Steinhorn
for a hands-on workshop on how to engage volunteers
in your museum in meaningful, sustainable ways.
We will:
· explore current demographic
trends and how they affect museums
· assess your museum’s
needs and opportunities for engaging volunteers
in different ways
· develop effective messages
to attract new volunteers and cultivate existing
volunteers
· discover emerging networking
strategies to “get the word out”
· review models for supporting
your volunteers in order to ensure your volunteer
engagement plan is both successful and sustainable.
You will receive tools and templates
to use with your museum teams and come away
with a vision of how to engage volunteers to
build your museum’s capacity.
Beth Steinhorn is a nonprofit
executive and a consultant in volunteer engagement.
Before consulting, she worked for over 15 years

manager, and evaluator. She has worked with
the American Museum of Natural History, Denver
Museum of Natural History, Astor House Museum,
Arvada Center for Arts & Humanities, and
many others. She is currently an Associate with
JFFixler & Associates, focusing on volunteer
engagement, marketing, and research.
Cost is $15 for Colorado Wyoming
Association of Museum members, $20 for non-members
and includes a box lunch. Please RSVP to Teresa
Sherwood at 307-745-6161 ext. 15 or tbeyer@state.wy.us
by July 16th.
